Making a Difference in the Workplace

As a woman leader and Executive Coach with 30+ years in professional services, I believe workplaces must be inclusive and supportive for all. When they are, everyone thrives with higher engagement, retention, resilience, and creativity. Everybody wins.

 

Yet often menopause remains overlooked, at times dismissed as taboo. The impact on women (and some non-binary and transgender people) is real, but is too often ignored by employers.

This is why I am so passionate about championing how to manage menopause in the workplace. 

It matters because:

  • Menopause is not just a personal experience.

  • It is a wellbeing, workplace and leadership issue.

At a critical stage of career and leadership, many women are navigating changes in energy, focus, confidence, and wellbeing, often without the language, support, or systems to match.

This is where M.A.D about Menopause™ makes a difference.

 1.  WHY IT MATTERS

Menopause does not show up in one neat way at work.
It shows up in ways which are unique for each woman.

Across organisations, the impact is often seen in three areas:

  • Leadership leakage
    Experienced women step back, lose confidence, or opt out of opportunities at a critical stage

  • The presenteeism plight
    Women remain at work but operate below capacity, masking symptoms and pushing through

  • Wellbeing and confidence erosion
    Sustained changes in energy, cognition, and emotional regulation impact performance and identity.

 

These are not capability issues.
They are signals that the system has not adapted.

When menopause is understood and supported, women remain confident, capable, and connected and organisations retain their talent and performance.
